What would the world be like if the gun was never invented?


would it be like the modern world we live just wars are fought with bows and arrows or would we still be in old times?

Mankind would have learned to shoot rocks, and
multiple firing arrows like the Chinese had. We would have
figure out something else for killing each other faster.

the world would be different, the battle of Stalingrad would have been a massive urban mob fight, the battle of the somme Would've been a long exchange of trebuchets and catapults and massive arrow volleys, trenches would've been replaced for under ground counter parts, the battle of kursk would've been the largest..... mounted Catapult wooden tank battle in history?

Does this scenario also exclude radio communication, landmines, poison gas, airplanes, etc?
