WW2 - Germany + Japan?

I've heard that in WW2, after the axis were planning on invading the US after they defeated the allies in Europe. Germany was going to attack the US in the east, and Japan would attack in the west. Apparently, they would have continued marching through the US until both armies met and all of the US was claimed. And I also heard that Germany was also planning on continuing moving west and attacking Japan and in that way conquering the world.

I cant remember where i heard this but...

1) Is it true

2) Would Germany and Japan have been able to beat the US if they had defeat the European allies.

3) Would Germany have been able to actually defeat Japan in such an outcome?

Re: WW2 - Germany + Japan?

Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf that after Russia Germany would invade the US, however he wrote it would be after his lifetime.

After Pearl Harbour Hitler got a bit ahead of himself and believed it could be done as part of the war. Hitler was never very good at logistics. In his mind he problably thought Japan could take out the entire US navy, Germany crush the US and Britain, grab the remnants of the Royal Navy and French fleet, along with his U-Boats and the Italian Navy and invade.

1) I heard the same thing. Considering hitler's ambition it's probably true.

2) I doubt they could have conquered the entire US but that's probably my patriotism talking

3) I have no idea. Can you imagine the amount of death and destruction that would have been caused by war on that scale. They might have negotiated a peace treaty or possibly destroyed eachother.

1.) Dunno, but even it is it could never be true.

2.) Hell no, there would be more insurrections in all of Europe in a week the moment Germany took over Europe than there are hair on my head (and there are quite a lot yet, thank you).

3.) Well, Germany had better land forces but I'd sooner be a 5,000 poster in 3 months before Germany could get as much as 500 miles within range of Japan.
