American Camelot

I was doing some little research on Arthur...

In Arthurian lore, when King Arthur was in Ireland in about AD 507, he had an affair with Maeve of Munster producing a son named "Cinnede", who had been proposed as an ancestor of the Kennedy Family and its branches.

If this legend is true, JFK in his own way could claim to be America’s “Camelot.”

The Irish O'Kennedys are a branch of the Dal Cais, and descend from Donchuan (brother to Brian Borru, the High King of Ireland), being a son of Cennetig. Whether John F. Kennedy is of the same descent is, AFAIK, unproven (O'Kenndy means son/grandson of Cennetig, but Cennetig was just a name, so any Cennetig could be his ancestor and not necessarily the royal one).

Cinnede the son of Arthur and Maeve is a recent invention, used as part of the British Israelite myth propaganda to link the governance of the USA with Britain both genetically and prophetically as God's chosen people, being descendants of the tribes of Israel. The internet has widened access to these names without realizing what theory they are grounded in.

As much as we like to romanticize, The JFK Camelot was a product of the media.

I don't see why it couldn't be true. If I claimed I was a direct descendant of Attila the Hun, who could possibly prove me wrong? Don't that say that a huge percentage of Asian people can trace their ancestors back to Genghis Khan?

Well, the burden of proof always lies with the person making the claim. If you have no proof supporting the claim that you are related to Atilla, then for all intents and purposes, you arent.

I agree. I'm no fan of the JFK cult worshiping Camelot feeling.

No, the burden of proof lies with the accuser. If you wish to disprove something then you must provide the proof.
