The Great War SS Dacia

From firstworldwar.com I find

On This Day - 21 January 1915

H.M. Ambassador at Washington announces that S.S. "Dacia", if captured, will be placed in a Prize Court.

and from google I find

History of the Atlantic Cable & Undersea Communications
from the first submarine cable of 1850 to the worldwide fiber optic network

.....but what I can't find is what was going on with the ''SS Dacia''.

I also don't know why my text suddenly decided to center itself.
