Most overrated empires?

While there's been tons of discussion on overrated generals, battle and campaigns I feel that this specific question has not come up.

I have always personally thought that while the Mongol, Russian and British empires did many impressive things the sheer size of their empires isnt that amazing when you realize that larges parts were sparsely populated desert or tundra.

For me, the British Empire. Totally overrated.

Love it when English people bring it up, and yet are against slavery, quite ironic.

The British did more to end slavery than anyone else in history

The British empire gave the world a common language

It is almost impossible to OVER-rate the importance, significance and effect the British empire had on history over 250 years.

They did quite a lot to end the slave trade. While they certainly committed a lot of horrible acts, I have to give them credit where credit is due.

The Swedish Empire.

While capable of winning impressive victories, they had a completely untenable position over the Baltic Sea. By the end of it they were pretty much dependent on French subsidies to field their armies without risking bankruptcy.
