Why isn't the Western Front of WW1 in there?

Being a Frenchman at the seige of Sevastopol was pretty grim. Or possibly just being a Frenchman.

Eastern Front. I've only seen a few documentaries/listened to a few podcasts, but it sounds like hell on earth.

I believe the Pacific War was every bit as awful for the participants as the Eastern Front. My grandfather on my Dad's side was a marine in that TOA. He survived combat and came home, but ate a gun a half dozen years later, so saying "He made it out" might not be an accurate statement.

For me it would have to be Vietnam. I would much rather fight an enemy I can see.

The Eastern Front would be pretty brutal too though.

All are brutal, but Vietnam would be the worst for me, to have fought for my country and then to be reviled and equated with a baby-killer for decades no matter my conduct.

eastern front. out of the sheer enormus extent of it, numbers involverd and the compleate disreguard for human life on both sides. anything went there, field hospitals overrun all occupents killed, prisoners beaten or randomly shot while on march, civilions executed or worked to death in the arnoment factorys etc. etc
