I think that the most likely type of "future war" will have something to do with climate change and mass migration. This is something the pentagon is looking at right now according to Gwynne Dyer. This guy is both terrifying and awesome Gwynne Dyer -- Geopolitics in a Hotter World - YouTube
"World War III will be fought with nuclear weapons, the next war will be fought with sticks and stones."

--- That says a lot.

The next war will certainly be a genetic war.

The wrong quotations! By god they are to much!

Einstein said: "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

It jumped out of me anyway. Well, enough of the citation, the message is pretty much clear.

The thing is, I doubt there will ever be a WWIII. It is highly improbable that we will ever see another world war...

I would like to think so as well but I do not want to close myself to the idea of a possible WWIII. Prolly it will be a war that will give birth to a new world order.

People have had enough of the two world wars already. WWI was unfinished business that has to be ended by WWII. Perhaps, I am hoping, the world has learned its lesson well enough for it to be very weary of another total war.

A lot of people said this in 1918.

then, there'll be a non-nuclear World War IV, over a dispute in the Indochinese Peninsula that causes it to also be known as the Second Vietnam War

actually, thats from ghost in the shell

i think that (against the rules of the thread) based on a nostradamus prediction i hear once that a great war will begin in 2012 and last twenty-seven years (to 2039), after which the world will experience 1000 years of peace.
that is the biggest load of malarkey i have ever seen in my enitre life. lol.

As long as we derive so much of what we call "necessities" today from petroleum, and if it really is a declining resource, when it runs low there will be some really nasty regional wars between the haves and have nots.

It's a tough choice who will be the worst off country, the first to use up it's oil? Or the last?

One thing for sure, the next war won't be fought like the last war no matter what. The way things are going it may even be automated with drones on land, sea, and air.

Russia will attack Finland in the future. The reason is, like it's been for the last 800 years, securing St. Petersburg. War for this reason has occured every century at least.
