No that wasn't the reason why he went into North Africa, Hitler never undertook any action purely for the benefit of non-Germans; he was interested in oil-supplies and wanted to cut off Britain's communications to the East by gaining control of the Suez Canal.

Hitler was worried that British success over the Italians would cause the fall of Mussolini and threaten his southern flank during his invasion of the Soviet Union.

Hitler and nazis favoured the arabs, why do you think their were so many groups simfied with the nazis, they felt the brits and french treated them like scum in their own lands and they did have a point,
Hitler wanted arabs free from colonialism wherelse the european allies were to enslavethe arabs under their thumb |
The Nazis USED the Arabs, who are a Semitic people, just as the Jews once were.
The Holocaust would have eventually been extended to include the Arabs.

They probably wouldn't, Hitler had an obsession with the east it was Mussolini who wanted North Africa to re-establish the old Roman possessions around the med.
The Germans were quite interested in taking control of Iran and its oil fields which would also give them a back door into Russia, they went as far as attempting a coup there before an British/Russian alliance (aided by the Israeli IRGUN curiously) put a stop to it.
The ironic thing is if they had bothered to do a geological survey they would have found that the empty Libyan desert where the Italian forces massed was floating on enough oil to make Fascist Italy rich into the next millenium, the whole war and the Italians defeat was totally meaningless.
