bat bombs were Mexican Free-tail Bat, with tube of napalm surgically implanted on the bats belly and these bat would be dropped from a bomber in a special case, while in a slumber like state and wake fly and rest in japanese houses and the napalm would start burning.
I know when they tested them they nearly burnt down an American airbase. I believe the project was cancelled as something better had been developed, some little project called Brooklyn or Queens or something similar.
Edit OK who changed the thread from under me?

Is that why the Germans gave it the nickname the 'Tommy cooker'? or Americans the 'Ronson'?

for WW2 my favorite tank is definitely german and mine is the Panther a perfect balance of firepower, mobility and armour protection. its highly accurate 75mm gun and superior german optics could destroy an enemy tank at at least 3000m which was claimed at Kursk.

for the modern age its the germans again with the mighty Leopard II. many say that it doesn't match up to the british Challenger II but the Leo II can be produced in larger numbers and is still highly effective. 1 on 1 a Challenger II may be able to defeat a Leo II but if theirs 5-10 Leo's against a single Challenger then its a different story. be afraid be very afraid of the german big cats

My favorite is the German Panther, due to its classic look and overall performance in WW2.

No don't like Tiger II, to big and to expensive with scarce resources , Germans should have focussed on production of the Mark IV and the Panther.

Does however look very good.

I agree. It wasn't the best of the best ideas and it entered the war very late,
but, for overall appeal, I like it.
