Inspired by a Pompey thread, and being fascinated by this person (who is also discussed extensively in that thread),I thought I should create one for Sertotius.
So,have at it,how would you rate him,on a scale from 1 to 10?Additionally,how would you rate him in overall Roman history?Who would be better than him,and from whom (of the good ones) would HE be better?

I voted 10 with Caesar being the only person above him. I gave him this rating because he was basically unbeatable.

A good, solid, eight. I will have to think a little more on the other questions.

He was a brilliant commander who understood his war and excelled at it. He's up there, though perhaps not the caliber of Scipio Africanus or C Julius Caesar. I'll say nine.
I'll also say the change from him to M Perpenna Vento was as comic an episode as you see in warfare.

One thing is sure,he had his work cut out for him, definitely. That alone puts him above many Roman commanders.
