Why did the Polish side with the Russians in ww2

To the best of my knowledge, the russians treated the poles as bad as the germans, so why did they choose the russians side.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Churchill didn't like the Soviets either, but allied with them against the greater threat of Hitler. That's not to say there weren't tensions between the Poles and Soviets, as has been discussed aplenty in recent threads.

1. British and American diplomats made Polish government-in-exile to sign the agreement with the USSR

2. Stalins plan was to exterminate bourgeois class of Polish society. Hitlers plan was to exterminate Poles as nation.

3. Most of Polish troops dallied in Central Asia. Then they had a good time(two years) in Near East. So they didn't fight until May 1944.

4. Berling and his people are the only ones who actually fought against Germans on the Soviet side and participated in capturing Berlin. But now they are called to be renegade and non-Poles.

So I can conclude that there were no Poles on the Soviet side.

Poles didn't "choose" the Soviet side.

They fought on the Allied side from September 1939. Look up Polish forces in the West and Polish wartime resistance.

First of all those were Soviets, not Russians.
Did Soviets exterminated Polish nation and destroyed Polish state?

no, not really. During the Russian occupation, after the war, aprox. 50,000 were killed on both side (there was a limited civil war in Poland from 1945 till early 50's)
Additional 300000 perished during deportation of Poles to Siberia and Kazakhstan in 1940/1941.
There was also a psychological damage done by 45 years of communist rules but it is difficult to estimate this damage..
German occupation was much more disastrous for Poland; 5.5 millions of death, this include 3mln. Polish Jews and 2.5 mln. Poles.
So there was a difference.
