in the October War and 6 Day war, did the Arabs not have some of the most up to date Russian weaponry???and numbers advantage? and Israel had numerous fronts, where as the Arab countries had only their own??

big Arab loss

in the October war and 6 Day war, the Arabs had some of the most up to date weaponry, especially in the October war....AND Israel had many fronts to fight on, where the Arabs only had 1 per country

That's just because 1. They had terrible leaders who were too paranoid about betrayal to focus on the task at hand. 2. Israel's military is frigging badass.

I don't think advanced weaponry has anything to do with it. India with Soviet/Russian equipment has still performed well in its wars against Pakistan, which had American weaponry.

In the case of the Arab-Israeli Wars, it seems that leadership (or a lack thereof) was a decisive factor.

American and Russian weaponry are about equal. I do agree though that often such loyal and skilled Arabic warriors have had to deal with idiotic leaders.

Probably, but the popular perception is that American weaponry is of a "higher quality" than Soviet/Russian weaponry. I personally don't have enough technical knowledge to make a judgement on that.

Yeah, I hate people who constantly think that. Don't worry about it, no one can know everything.

Actually, during the Arab-Israeli war of 1973 there were two fronts: the Syrian and Egyptian....not like Israel had to do deal with many fronts or that Arabs utilized many as well...

During these wars, Isreal had a much substantial support from the US given its priority position compared to Arab states, the Soviet support was not as close as this because President Sadat wasn't on good terms with them....Israel have always had a higher support from the West during these days, the bomardment against Egypt in 1956 by combined Israeli/French/British air forces is an example....

In any way, corruption and political mess is the major reason for Arab failures.....

I don't think that its a good comparison to look at Arabs now and in the past....In our age, there are 22 countries with different leadership/strategic focus/political setup, and the result is a scattered performance.....

That is correct, nice post. I have to agree with that.
