No, strictly speaking they did NOT fight together. Fighting together means conducting combat operations under a unified command.
Supplying resources/technology is not the same as combat
That the USSR (not Russia) took the opportunity to expand its territory, at the expense of Japan, at the end of the war is irrelevant
