I see, the Incas and maybe other precolumbian Peruvian cultures also had such a weapon, they called it huaraca and I thought it was an example of how primitive precolumbian warfare was... An impressive tool for sporting events but an awful weapon for combat... I mean, just think how hard it is to even aim it properly.

Of course the dogs in the experiment died... However had the experiment been more succesful it would have been a strategy of war and many more dogs would have persihed, that is what I meant.

Accuracy would come with practice....cultures across the world used slings and shepherds used them in ancient times to keep wolves and other predators away from their sheep.

Hitting a man sized target wasn't a problem

it didnt make a lot of difference, once the story about mine dogs got around the German soldiers tended to shoot dogs on sight just on the off chance.
