Great Japanese general in WW2


So can you lit some good japenese generals in ww2? I know Tomoyuki Yamashita and Isoroku Yamamoto are pretty good general or admoreals how about the other ones?

The two you mentioned, were the most notable ones, imo.

Another notable general would be Masaharu Homma, although the Japanese removed him command because they thought he was "not aggressive enough".

The navy had the "star power" and some notable ones would be;

Vice Admiral Takeo Kurita, Vice admiral Nobutake Kondo and Vice Admiral Chuichi Nagumo.

Tadamichi Kuribayashi

Probably one of the most underrated WWII Generals. He's the reason the Japanese forces held out for as long as they did at Iwo Jima.

Rear Admiral Raizo Tanaka. Primary leader of the Tokyo express. Tenacious (he was known as "tenacious Tanaka") admiral whom gained a tactical victory over the Americans at the Battle of Tassafaronga.

Vice-Admiral Gunichi Mikawa. Gained a subtantial victory over the Americans/Australian navies at the Battle of Savo island.
