After you watch this go to the actual youtube page for lots more of the series.

I liked it, despite my initial reservations that he might vainly plump for anti-English clichés, but he didn't.

I disagree with his baseless supporting of the 937 Brunanburh site at Bromborough, without any deeper analysis, but he did a great job.

Can he ever stop the 'look at me' glance-backs towards the camera, though?

It's actually really good. I'll admit, I watched the Lords of the Isles one expecting to find a boatload of errors. There weren't any, other than making John of the Isles look like a Norwegian bouncer.

I would like to know more about the Scots who emigrated to Northern Ireland, I think sometime in the 1500s or 1600s, and from there to the 13 Colonies. Does anyone know about this specific event?

Siol Iain Mor?

I've been reading a lot about them recently. I could probably answer any questions you have.

I passed him on my motorbike as I climbed up from Stirling train station last week. I glanced back as I turned at the junction and he was backwards glancing at me - with that same look lol:lol:. So I'm guessing it's just him and the directors have picked up on it.

So, are they going to declare independence in next year's referendum???

The polls have consistantly said 'NO' for a while now, but that's just the polls. Interesting times ahead.

You never know, they(politicians) might actually get around to managing the place, once the referendum is out of the way, whichever way it goes (read that with sarcasm).

One positive thing I've noticed, in terms of the upcoming referendum, is the internet being burned by scots in an effort to try and find the facts behind a lot of the rhetoric. For me, it even led to trying to track down just who 'the scots' are and what is their right to the lump of land called Scotland, going as far back as the current DNA analysis will allow. Enlightening, it certainly was.

For me - It looks like my ancestors likely came across with the Norman invasion and ended up settling in Caithness and the islands north, many centuries ago. Damn!, not even a tartan.

I will be in Scotland next week and will conduct some intensive resarch into the subject and present a detailed analysis on my return.

(I will ask the locals at my brother-in laws-pub :))

Such sacrifice in the name of social & political science.

It does get harder, as the night wears on. You forget which country you're talking about:think:. Hic!

Perth, Western Australia. or....hickville.
My mother traced a whole lot of her ancestry. She is originally from Scotland.

Her mother is Maltese and from there it splinters back into Maltese, Sicillian Italian and even French ancestry.
On her fathers side, which I just expected to be Scots, there were Irish, a goddamned Campbell and even god forbid and Englishman, if memory serves.

So genetically I am a real bitza (bitza this, bitza that).

Hi, welcome brother in laws pub, I am sure you will be welcome. Just make sure you visit some landmarks as well. Scotland's history is very interesting.:) Just ask me about some places where to go, I will find some links for you.
