I read in this forum that Turks one had the mongoloid physical traits but due to the numerous inter racial marriages, the turks got the European physical traits? Could some give more such examples where in people of some ethnicity have the physical traits and customs of some other ethnic people ?

You really think there were enough migrating Turks to completely replace the populations of the places they settled in? :p

Indeed, imo, from genetical point of view, turks lost almos all original mongoloid traits. But, in average, i think they inherited arabic&semitic genes, rather to european. The genetic heritage, in general, have not much to do with identity. The magyars, original a turkik people, have now quasi-european genes, but they preserved the original identity and language

I think they took Persian looks firstly and then other looks. Take the Seljuks for example.

Did the Turks not gain a large population of Greeks / Latin people come the fall of the Latins in Constantinople during the 4th Crusade and then the Fall of Anatolia and Constantinople ? I distinctly remember the Turks not asking / forcing the population of the city to leave despite the fact they certainly could have.

Indeed, especially in Anatolia, where the Greek population declined significantly.

Mehmed actually allowed the population of the city to leave if they wanted to, instead of fighting. After the fall there were few people so he reinhabited the city with both Turkish and Greek population.

Lots of Turks have slavic (mostly southern I would say but also northern brought in the ottoman empire as slaves) or Greek origins though. I have a turk friend who is blond with green eyes and is often confused for a German. I have also seen a lot of Turks with northern mediterranean features reminiscent of what one could see in Yougoslavian countries, Greece, Romania etc.
