Mexico would have been a giant country if they didn’t lose their Northern Territory and the small Central American states didn’t secede

Bolivar wanted all of the post Spanish colonies to be under the banner of one federation
Central America didn't secede because it wasn't part of Mexico. Instead, what happened was that the Guatemalans wanted to join Iturbide's empire, something that the rest of Central America didn't like, which led to a civil war that started the process of Central America's Balkanisation.

How about an Islamic Caliphate uniting all of the world's Muslim majority countries? The Ummayad Caliphate did exactly that. Though granted the world's Islamic population was much smaller during the 7th and 8th centuries, and mostly confined to the Near East and North Africa.
That would require all Muslim lands to come under the control of one colonial power, no?

If Argentina had been a more stable country and continued to receive massive streams of European immigrants, it might have been fairly large. There were also plans for Italy to keep Libya and for France to keep Algeria (IIRC).

Latin America could have a single country, as big as Brazil. Spanish speaking America got divided into several countries.

FTR, I meant larger in terms of territory as well as in terms of population here.

Theoretically, Yes, this might have actually been possible.

Great idea--though South Sudan's inclusion unfortunately makes for some awkward borders here. :(
