Actually, there is somewhat of a tradition in the US of star athletes engaging in political activism. Which is, what I assume you mean by "Break the traditions." It's a free country and she has the prerogative to speak as she pleases. Whether anyone is listening with an empathetic ear is another question. Of course, FIFA has been very active with their Social Responsibility and Sustainability campaigns. So perhaps this is the new norm and actually consistent with contemporary tradition. Personally, I just like watching football. I am entirely capable of making my own mind up and am really not interested in what the players think, or who they have sex with, etc. I blame the pre and post match interviews which nauseatingly extend ad nauseam.
