What if Russia was settled by the Germanic people in the Medieval Era, who'd conquer most of the Eastern and Southern territories and annexing those regions into the Germanic Russian Empire as the Russians did in OTL?

You can keep the POD at around Early to Mid Medieval era. Bonus points if Northern parts of Indian subcontinent , Mongolia, Parts of Persia, also become a Germanic regions influenced by this larger Eurosphere. You can choose any Church. Catholic, Orthodox, Nestorianism, etc.

So what would the effects of this be?

This thread belongs in the Speculative History section. Anyway, though, you're probably going to need a much larger Ostsiedlung during the Middle Ages for this to actually occur. Basically, Germans migrated in large numbers east of the Elbe but they only managed to Germanize territories up to East Prussia and not beyond that. Poland and the Baltics are going to need to be Germanized before Russia is, and accomplishing even this is going to require much, much more Germans to move east during the Ostsiedlung as well as for the Ostsiedlung to last for several centuries beyond the 1300s as well. It's really pushing it.

I thought Germans, or perhaps their ancestors the Goths, actually once inhabited eastern Europe. Before gradually moving into central Europe. And then eventually western Europe.

Not all Germanic people, Goths included moved in western direction. In the 3rd century, Goths under Kniva launched an invasion on Roman province of Moesia Inferior and defeated the legions of Trajan Decius in the battle of Abritus / the emperor and his son were killed during the battle. Goths were driven were driven back across the Danube 20 years later by Aurelian where they established an independent kingdom in the abandoned province of Dacia Felix. Hundred years later they were pressed by the Huns they asked Valens to be allowed to settle south of Danube river. The Roman emperor allowed that but because of food shortage newcomers began to starve and Gothic war of 4th century happened. Valens was killed at the Battle of Adrianople, a great Gothic victory.

Some of the Goths migrated in southeastern direction / in the very east i mean as Crimean Goths who settled in Crimean peninsula as the name imply. The Third Reich knew about it / that Crimea had been home to Goths until XVIII century or so, so they renamed Sevastopol city to Theoderichshafen (the port of Theoderich) referring to Theoderic the Great, the famous king of the Ostrogothic Kingdom of Italy, before Justinian Reconquista.

@ScientistAlexandrus Honestly, in order to make your scenario come true, you're probably going to need a much later PoD where the Nazis actually manage to win World War II and where the Nazi regime somehow subsequently manages to survive for centuries. Honestly, the Nazis are probably the only Germans who had such extremely massive designs on Russian territory. From there, the Nazis could have eventually expanded elsewhere as well.

If the east Germanic peoples remained on the Russian steppe and mixed with the eastern Vikings centuries later, they may be able to retain a Germanic language/culture. Additionally if the slavs didn't spread as far east as they did in real life. And lastly of course they have to survive the various nomad invasions like the Russians did.
