Everything revealed thus far is nothing compared to what the US government still has under wraps--actual proof of visitors
Nonsensical. If it's under wraps, you wouldn't know of its existence.

A number of witnesses recalled seeing and handling highly exotic material, which was confiscated, and never revealed since. The implication is obvious….

Skeptics often say that it would be such a big secret that it couldn't be kept --that's true! that's why there are leaks and people coming out and the government and military has ridiculed individuals and tried to maintain secrecy around the subject. Why on Earth would the chief engineer at Wright-Patterson (General McCasland) even be talking about, much less mentioning UFOs to Tom Delonge as seen in Wikileaks? Materials have apparently been placed in the hands of the private sector --Battelle, Bigelow Aerospace, Lockheed Martin..

Well, I doubt there are true "leaks" or "whistleblowers" in the sense of people acting in defiance of government orders. You've seen The Alien Plan…. take on that.
In part it's acclimation as much info is based on a core of truth. But "leaks" are mostly a government scam to conceal secrets with misinformation.

Here you are entering the field of symbolism ... Semiotics ...

How to hide something? Showing it!

Once an expert of Semiotic asked me ... "if you are visiting the MET and you see the Ark of the Covenant with a writing saying "copy of the Ark of the Covenant" ... will you think that it's the real Ark or a copy?"

Semiotics teaches that the best way to hide the real meaning of a symbol is ... to show it! Everybody will think to an other hidden meaning and the real secret meaning will be safe!

Remaining in the field of speculative history, what if US authorities have showed evidences of alien visits on Earth? [Just to hide them ...].

Right! Release information that is very close to the truth but with absurdity, errors and misinformation, and the whole topic becomes anathema.

No, a possible implication is implied. In what way was this material 'exotic'? Most people don't define materials as exotic, merely observe, handle, exploit, or ignore, as appropriate. Materials out of context might inspire some curiosity, but the average person simply isn't knowlegable enough to know what is or isn't of mundane origin. Further, the alleged confiscation of material does not imply a top secret file.
