Are there any good movies out there about John Brown's raid at Harper's Ferry?

From what I can find there are no historical-fiction movies. There are documentaries though. The oldest one is a silent film from 1903 which just shows the area.

I think everybody veiws John Brown as a crazy madman. Even the blacks. Though I must admit there has been artwork and i think songs about him. I litterally spit on the picture of him kissing some slaves child. He was rightfully hanged.

You're my new best friend, yes you are! He had a few screw that were missing, I don't mean loose I mean they were never put in. He was just insane, I mean really messed up in the head. There's a saying, at least around here where if someone tells you something that shocks you, you'd respond with, "Well I'll be John Brown." Other than that, we don't mention his name too much, scares the children.

"John Brown's body lie a mouldering in the ground! John Brown's lies a mouldering in the ground!"........

Gary Busey?

Even if the guy was absolutely crazy, he at least did something about what he believed in. For that I have more respect for him then the guys who used to sit around in Boston and talk about how slavery is bad. If he was rich and a little bit calmer he most likely would have been remembered for his contributions to the abolitionist movement instead of a failed attempt at starting a revolution.

Osama Bin Laden didn't just sit around and say stuff like "arogant capitalist, infidel America, etc.} No. Osama Bin Laden didn't he took action.

Osama Bin Laden was and is rich. His family has a very big building company. Osama Bin Laden is calm, he accepted the Americans help in fighting off the Russians, but he still held them as enemies, even if secretly.

Now .... what do we remember Osama Bin Laden today for? For not sitting around and taking action?

No. For killing thousands of people. John Brown didnt even kill 10 people I think. Though if he had been calmer and richer, I guess he could have gotten up in the thousands or maybe hundreds of deaths. Too bad he didn't, or else alot of innocent people, civilians, and Southerners, heck he might've turned eastwards and attacked kentucky and the northern slave states. Alot of people would have died. Would've made you happy eh Ritocal?

Didn't Raymond Massey make a movie about John Brown in the 1950s?

Would slavery continueing to today make you happy?

John Brown was a fantatic who wanted to free an oppressed people
Osama is a fantatic who wants to oppress a free people.

If Brown was calmer and richer.. he could have continued to support the underground railroad, donate land to escaped slaves and defend those who could not defend themselves.

Do not twist my words to make me sound like I support terrorism and I won't twist yours to make you sound like you support slavery.

Actually while readig up on Brown, I found out this wasn't his first attack, he had helped in the Kansas wars killing pro-slavery people and raiding thier towns. He even set up a guerilla group to defend/hide escaped slaves.

So in my opinion, and others, he is a terrorist, and so I veiw you as supporting a terrorist.
