BBC series, fascinating

The Lost world of communism, 1-3 DDR
Upon re-viewing, I discovered some cultural nudism depicted, so be warned.. Perhaps watch it inside of Youtube rather on the Historum site. It seemed to be ok with the BBC...

The Lost world of communism, Czechoslovakia

The Lost world of communism, Romania

Might watch.

I'll never find the webpage which hosted the info, but they say on the East Berlin side of the Berlin wall, it was common for everyone of the school staff (unsure if it was college or what knot) to end their day and head out to nude beaches.

With that being said. There is nothing about communism which stops crime. In fact, to my memory the corruption index of communist countries is through the roof.

In some cases nudity can be liberating, but in many cases it is abused to be demoralizing and dehumanizing.

So beware.

Thank you for the comment.
Is nudism anymore degrading than commercialized pornography? Legal or not, both Germany's had prostitution. The problem is not sex, it is the state's effort to control or channel it for their own purposes. Whether it be a safety valve in a country that does not tolerate dissent or a tool of oppression. Here in the States, swimming in the nude could bring serious criminal charges resulting in being labeled a sex offender. Which would you choose?
A country does not have to be communist to employ state tyranny. Tyranny is tyranny whether it is a command economy or a corporate partnership with government. I appreciated the link you have posted on corruption. (I've applied for Danish citizenship)
During the Cold War, most countries fell under the influence of one side or the other and there was a balance of sorts.
People mistakenly believe that this new world began with 9-11. I disagree, I believe that it happened in 1989 Berlin with the collapse of the wall. There was a fork in the road. One way was a multilateral world and the other was a unilateral world. People here in the US were chanting “We Won!” as if it was a ******* football game..

People in the States view nudity in a very different way as Western Europeans view it. I don't see any problem in nudity, or even show it in prime-time national television, as long as it is not shown in a sexual way.
