In the 70s and 80s I worked security for Jam Productions, the biggest rock and roll show promoter in Chicago at the time, and I saw almost every act that came through town. And IMO Journey was an outstanding live act and Steve Perry was the finest singer in the business. He sang with great emotion and with range, purity of tone and power that was spine tingling and brought a manly tear to my eyes. His voice was a gift from God. I saw Journey many times, going back to their pre Perry "Look Into the Future" days and the band always gave 100% of itself, never failed to provide the fans a great show.
