I have three women frontmen I would like to mention: Lzzy Hale of Halestorm; Taylor Momsen of the Pretty Restless; and Joan Jett. One good frontman is George Thorogood of the Destroyers. I have seen them all (except Joan) in Houston. Good Times!

It has to be Freddie Mercury. No matter how great Brian May etc are there's no Queen without Freddie Mercury, and he's the quintessential frontman. As a counter example I'd say Mark Knopfler: there's no Dire Straits without him but he is not a frontman.

Runner up would be maybe David Lee Roth of Van Halen. The live shows of his era are awful singing-wise but he makes it work with sheer energy and faith.
