Byzantium: Bridge built across the Bosporus in 800CE?

Speculative on the "Alien Space Bat" end of the spectrum: Suppose a large, wide and stable bridge was able to built across the Bosporus, what would the effect be on history?

I'm not sure what would be better, a bridge near Constantinople, or connecting to Constantinople. Either way. Suppose one gets built, and is maintainable (just assume magic). What kind of butterfly effects might this have?
