What do you consider to be the most interesting civil war? The discussion can include military, political and socio- economic aspects of a chosen conflict.

civil wars are essentially revolutions
a failure of the old order of things to work it's way around some public problem
then force is the last arbiter

social reform , religion , local feeling and of course taxes

Civil wars are the worst types of conflicts. They reflect only the inability to settle matters in a civilized manner. They pit families, friends and colleagues against each other. They are the long-lasting failures of a broken regime.

The English Civil War - Because of its far reaching influence on the concept of democracy

Romanian - It was so fast it was caught on live TV during a speech being made by the leader of the country.

I will go for Spain 1936-39.
The seemingly everlasting internal conflict of the Left. The dilemma of the west. The Anarchists, the International Brigade.
An incredibly interesting affair.

In what way ? Not to mention, that 1688 Glorious Revolution and it's aftermath was more important in that regard.
I probably could argue that without the English Civil War, there would not have been anything in 1688.

if a war is based on ethnicity they are not "civil "
A national state can include more than one ethnicity and these different groups can fall apart. To wit: Africa (Congo, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Sudan); Middle East (Iraq, Lebanon); Asia (Bangladesh, Georgia); Europe (Cyprus, Yugoslavia)
