College Drinking

It was always know that William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va. had slaves who grew hops. Now they know where the beer was made. While widening a sidewalk by the Wren Building, the remains of a brewery were found. The remains indicate that it was originally 18x20 feet and an addition of 18x8 feet was later added. It appears to have gone into disuse by the time of the Revolution.

The Old Dominion
Wren is the oldest, continuously used academic building in the country. My daughter, a 2013 graduate, made sure she had at least on class in her time there in the Wren Building.
