Did the Catholic Church perform gay marriages?

Article about a book that claims they did:

Gay marriage in the year 100 AD
Huge B.S.

Thanks to Saint Paul and Old Testament the Catholic Church will never approve the oddity ( or "abomination" ?... it depends by your point of view ) of the homosexual marriage.
Like it or not the homesexual 's marriage will never receive the blessing/benediction of a really Christian priest..... Catholic or Ortodox..

Some Catholic priests are homosexual... ( to be homosexual is not a shame for the Catholic Church ) .... but what is important is the catholic/ortodox magisterium on homosexuality..

The claim is that the early church conducted same sex unions - but the 'union' was a spiritual, not a sexual one. One of the articles quotes the ceremony that two men were "united not by nature but by faith and a holy spirit". It is a modern spin to assume that two men expressing a filial love for each other must have an underlying physical, homosexual element to it. Maybe some of them did, but the the church did not condone homosexual practises, and conducting a spiritual union between two men did not mean that it was performing a gay marriage.

It is LGBT propaganda... (of which i m really tired )
Many LGBT believe that all the human beings are more and less homosexual ...without a an appropriaty sexual identity...

It is rather amusing how all historical examples of men expressing affection and tenderness for each other, now are filtered through sexuality. Because male bonding apparently can't exist without sexual desire.

Are you a man ? Have you got a male friend ? There are good chances you are homosexual..and maybe you don't know you are gay.. But the gay experts know you better than you..

The future belongs to LGBT...

Who or what is behind the LGBT movement ?

I have no doubt that a number of Churches were more positive towards homosexual couples, particularly in the Balkans and North Africa, before a uniform Roman institution emerged in the Orthodox Church. It bothers me that I lost a reference for homosexual Christians in North Africa, who were eventually killed off by the Vandals, because that would be a perfect thing to bring up here.

However, with respect to marriage, if such a thing did occur it was exceedingly rare.

This is an interesting topic,

The surprising claims of a respected historian regarding the ancient Christian church’s stance on gay marriage sparked controversy recently in advance of a new publishing of the book that originally championed the claims.

John Boswell was an openly gay, Catholic historian and professor at Yale University. A good period of his career involved advocating that the early Christian church often conducted ceremonies joining two men together in ritualistic unions.

In 1994, the year before he died, Boswell published Same-Sex Unions in Premodern Europe, his strongest defense of this theory. The very first digital version of that book is slated to be published at the end of August.
