Old coinage of compound words seems to keep constituent stems more or less intact, e.g., with interfix: Caesaropapism, lunisolar; without interfix: Celtiberi, terraqueous.

I'm looking for examples of ancient or medieval coinage with constituent stems truncated like modern ones such as Benelux, brunch.
