Students in the UK can borrow money for their education at what is considered to be a cheap rate, but, usually end up with a debt of , say,$30,000. Thereafter. they get a job, and providing they earn over $20000, repayments are taken from their salaries.
My daughter went to University and is stuck with a debt around her neck. My son left school at 16, took an apprenticeship, (which we "subbed" him for") and is now earning 3 times as much as she!
University is not the be all and end all. Article in the paper this week. University student with a top degree, has to have a job which pays minimum wage in order to survive.
Is anyone here in that situation?
