There was a third line which made up the Chemins de Fer du Sud de la France. This line remains open. The Nice to Digne Les Bains railway has had a chequered history and it struggled to survive throughout the later half of the 20th century. But survive out did, and it now boasts very modern rolling stock and seems to have a reasonably secure future. The next series of posts on this thread cover the history of that line and follow its route. There were also a number of branch tramways which fed the mainline. As each of these is encountered along the route it will be the focus of a post in its own right.
