Gunpowder in Europe is mentioned already in 13. century. At the same times it appears in Arab world. There are theories that it was brought to Europe from China by Europeans living there or that it was even stolen there by spies from Eropean countries.

Somebody has more informations about this?

Most likely someone saw the Mongols using it, and thought that's an interesting idea.

In 1265 there was still a Crusader presence in the Holy Land. Was that the point of contact and transfer between Europeans, Arabs, and Mongols?
