How were the conditions of Jews and more specifically researchers and academics, in Germany, during the 1920s?

Dec 2019
Hello everyone!

I am making a family tree research project, and I need to contextualize a little. Unfortunately, I did not find many sources on this subject. I have found old documents about a German Jewish relative, who was emplyed in an industrial chemical company in the 20s. I am interested in both the conditions of Jews in general, in industry and in academia; like how researchers and professors were affected by it during those years in Germany. I know that the Nuremberg laws were promoted in 1935, but did the persecutions towards Jews already start, back to the 1920s?

Every kind of source is welcome: books, posts, links or plain comments. I would like to have some starting points.

Thank you in advance!
