Is Zhang Qian's report about Alexandria Eschate the first documented interaction between Chinese and Europeans?

In 125 BC, the Chinese diplomat Zhang Qian returned to China with news of a war-proficient breed of horses from the Greco-Bactrian kingdom. It eventually led to the "War of the Heavenly Horses." Is there any earlier contact between these two cultures? Two centuries earlier, the Greeks thought India was the edge of the World, so I think it's likely this was the very first instance.

Between ancient Greek and China? There are some Greek coins found in a few areas of China and I wouldn't be surprised if some Greek trader travelled the length of the trade route hoping for more profits but official contact was likely minimal though I think some people knew there were other kingdoms past the mountains, deserts, and jungles on both sides.
