On June 15th a number of royal mummies will be moved from Tahrir Square to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. This move will be in the form of a "Great world parade". I'm sure it will be done with dignity and with many people lining the route. I'm reminded that when the mummies from the Deir el-Bahri cache were transported down the Nile to Cairo over a hundred years ago, the banks were lined with people and women were ululating, just as they may have done thousands of years before when a dead pharaoh was ferried down the Nile.
