With all do respect, the article You linked doesn't serve Your statement in any way:

The subject of the paper is masonry domes in India, and the author clearly states that besides looking at a specific aspect (masonry domes), it's looking at a specific period (and I quote) : " ... The period under review covers Islamic rule overnorthernand central Indiaframthe late 12th centuryto the mid18th century. ... " (end of quote)

To be honest, it's a bit like me complaining that there isn't a talk about black spotted white cats in a paper dealing with spotted dogs.

______
PS: thank You for the link, it's interesting.

the map clearly shows that indians didn't know domes and islamic empires brought them all the way from persia and ultimately from byzantime/rome church models.

the double dome was also known to the indians as seen in the Gumbat vihara, swat

Nope.

The title of the map is: "the principal routes for the structural influence on domes in India". You can not have influence on something if the something doesn't exist! You cannot have an influence on Indian domes if there weren't Indian domes. If it would about what You say, it would say something like "the spread of domes in India"!

Really, Ashoka, don't look for a bug were there isn't any bug!

yes and the domes in india mean the islamic domes under discussion not the pre islamic domes. The article states no where that domes were already existing in the indian subcontinent before the domes under discussion.

And?

A guy was interested in the influence of a dome construction technique in India and study it. Were exactly the problem is?
clearly the biggest problem is not considering pre islamic domes and the technique of their construction in india in his article while talking about byzantine domes, the guy makes false assumption that double domes were brought from central asia, where as they already existed in india for two thousand years. If you dont consider indian domes, so naturally indian architecture will be influenced from abroad. This is the major issue with all eurocentric scholarly work on indian history, they deliberately reject ground evidences and keep firm on their biased opinions. If you are talking about post islamic indian domes, you need to do a research on pre islamic indian domes and where the influence is coming from.
