I can hardly imagine that there was a larger invasion in world history than Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 by Germany and its allies. It involved four million soldiers on a frontline that stretched several thousand kilometers.

Other invasions though may have had larger historical consequences.

It didn't. It was the failed invasion of the Soviet Union and the subsequent push of the Red Army into the heart of Europe that cracked the Third Reich.

Also, 156.000 men was only the initial strength of the invasion of the Western Allies, and it coincided with Operation Bagration in June 1944, which materialized as the greatest defeat of the Wehrmacht at an unprecedented scale. It is never easy to fight a two-front war.
