Last surviving WWII general?

Great find! He must have been still in his thirties when he became a general. It turns out Trettner was trained as a pilot in 1932 and served in the Condor Legion in Spain. I wonder how common it was for pilots to become paratroop officers? In Germany the paratroopers were a part of the Luftwaffe so it makes more sense.

Lt Gen Edgar Chavarrie just died in Sept 2019 at the age of 94. He joined the Army Air Corps straight out of high school in 1943 and was a B-25 navigator. I’ve been trying to figure out if he was the last surviving general, but finding the keeper of that record has been extremely difficult!
