Major "Ludwig von Steinmann" Turkish Officer in Prussian service under Frederick the Great. Information?

Came arocss this in Christopher Duffy's "The Army Of Frederick the Great", which just mentions he was actually a Turk with his name in quotes. HAs anyone come across this guy and have any information at all?

Personally I don't. But in the past the term turk could have several meanings (it's just since Ataturk in the 1020s that the word took an ethnic view) :

An European converted to islam
A muslim with an European appearance (the most common use)
A sympathiser to the turks or turkophile
An insult
