The haunting, mummified remains of a possible lama teacher have been found in Mongolia — still sitting in the lotus position after about two centuries, The Siberian Times reports.
After conducting a cursory examination, researchers believe the body — which was covered in animal skin — may be about 200 years old.
The mummy was found Tuesday in Songinokhairkhan province and is undergoing forensic tests at the Ulaanbataar National Centre of Forensic Expertise.
The mummy may be that of a teacher of Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov, a Buryat Buddhist lama of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Interesting that Dashi-Dorzho Itigilov who lived in Russia, also died meditating in the lotus posture and his body after 88 years is still incorrupted.
