The rule for this thread is no top forty hits by the original artist. Covers are fine and encouraged. Laura Nyro (pronounced 'Nero') wrote this song and a number of other hits popularized by others. However she did record most of her work herself. While I like the Three Dog Night version, I like Laura's version better. So in a sense her versions are "covers". Overdubbing was popular in the late 1960s and is now considered passé. Laura made heavy use of it along with her driving piano style. In her hands, it still works IMO.

Named for Duke Ellington and representing his style of mixing major and minor chords, this short piece is one of Brubeck's most identifiable compositions along with "Take Five" in 5/4 time.

VK goes dark. She has had as many as over 9 million hits on a youtube post. This was posted in 2017 and so far has garnered 70,000. It deserves a lot more IMO. It's one of the best I've heard from her.
