Passchendaele: A New History

Just finished this, it's by Nick Lloyd. I thought it was very good for someone with my level of knowledge or rather lack of it. I knew there had been a battle in Flanders between July and November 1917 and that it had been muddy and bloody but that was it really. I didn't know about Gough's misguided initial attack, Plumer's success in the middle and the debatable continuation into November. It probably told me all I think I need to know.

I'm about 2/3 the way through this and enjoying it. Lloyd's book on the 'Hundred Days', which I read previous to this, is also pretty good.
