Not Iraq so much as Syria.Oh I agree. Regime change especially in Iraq was the biggest mistake the United States has made this century. Believe me, i am no fan of George W. Bush and his neocon gang. However, sad to say the damage is done. What the West needs now is a comprehensive strategy to deal with this migrant situation and return a semblance of order and national pride to our respective nations.
A Syrian schoolfriend of mine is here in the UK with his family, having got out before everything blew up. He doesn't want to be here permanently, and doesn't want his children to grow up here. He wants to go home, but won't put his family in danger. You or I would do the same.
The best strategy is to rebuild those countries and promote peace, even if it means compromising with some less savoury regines. We already do that anyway with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel, why not a few more?
