Quote from Martin Luther

Some years ago I watched a movie, a dramatization of the life of Martin Luther. In the movie, the ML character has a wonderful line, something to the effect that "In Spain alone the remains of 18 of the original 12 Apostles can be found." Does anyone know if ML really said anything like this?

I don't know whether he actually said that, but I wouldn't put it past a young Luther to say it. He was much like any other medieval man of his day...believing in relics, superstition, etc. As he starts becoming educated at Wittenberg, it is unlikely that he would have said something like that.

My guess if he did say it, it was early in his career.
