Hum, Selinunte has been known for a long time; it's one of the major archaeological touristic destinations in Sicily (together with many other ancient Greek cities like Segesta, Agrigento or Siracuse). I visited it four or five years ago, gorgeus site by the sea.
We visited it some years ago. As the article indicates, it is a huge site requiring riding a tourist "train"--really a tractor pulling buggies like at Versailles--to see its various parts. Very, very hot, though, as is all of southern Sicily.
