Faxien record indicates presence of charity, welfare activities in ancient india


in another statement faxian records charitable hospitals which provided free medical and food to the poor.

Fa-hien did not suffer any trouble during his journey from one place to another in India. The kings and the rich people had built rest-houses (Dharamshalas) where every convenience was provided to the travellers. They had also built hospitals for the poor where free medicine was distributed to them.

Indian scholars such as Kautilya and panini know of gold coins, it is propagated that indians didn't know of gold coins before indo greeks or the kushans, some mauryan gold coin like objects have also been excavated from Piprahwa stupa

Alcohol probably originated in India rather than the middle east, entire chapter is dedicated to liquor and liquor stores/pubs

but here it is said, it was introduced from the middle east
