Tankettes as law-enforcement/security vehicles?

May 2019
I seem to recall reading or hearing somewhere that, after the surrender of Italy during WW2, the Germans took a number of their L3/35s and used them for internal security operations. Are there any other examples of nations using tankettes in either law-enforcement or internal security, as opposed to frontline infantry support or scouting operations (which seem to have been to two more common roles)? More often in history I see armoured cars filling this role, since partisans and rioters don't often carry heavy weapons, but I was just curious how much the tankette design was applied to these situations, particularly in areas with heavy partisan/resistance activities.
