Dettinger has refused-it is a possibility offered by the law- to pass in "comparution immediate" (rapid convocation) as it is usual for the "flagrants délits"(delicts uncontestable). He said he wants to prepare his defense with his advocates.Others people think his advocates wait for the eventual treatment which will be reserved to the policeman who has shot the other day a fireman, member of the "yellow jerseys",and who is in deep coma in the hospital. So for the 13 february, I think they will play the card of the context (violence, riots etc...) and of the difference made between the members of the forces of order, and a man member of the travel s people.....

Like in 1789 with the "Etats Généraux" (Clergy,Aristocracy,Tiers state) Macron has decided to propose big national discussions. The situation is perhaps not very clear for everybody:national debt,2 200 billions of euros,6 000 000 of unemployed people,9 000 000 of poors.

with Britain twisting it's knickers in knots , France with a serious bout of revolutionary fever
Italy broke and Germany lost at sea without her pilot
the whole idea of the EU is looking like to collapse
the unrestrained expansion was probably a big mistake , too much , too fast , too indiscriminate ,
taking on " new " Europe was always an American desire to weaken the institution and make it into the economic counterpart of NATO

one could observe the utter failure of the EU foreign policy as soon as it diverge from it's master voice
after ho hum and scraping their throat in weak disagreement , the EU is knukling down under Trump diktat on Iran

poor commissioner Federica Mogherini is the only one to pretend her job matter

I’m not sure about twisting our knickers in knots. It’s more a cause of trying to choose between one pair that are far too tight and another pair that are far too big and we don’t like the middle size pair that our mother has chosen.

France is in the european system since 1951 with the CECA (European Community of Coal and Iron) a good system of integration which practicises a "sectorial federalism" in the economical territory of the siderurgy. As thought a lot of specialists this little Community (France,Italia,Germany,Benelux) was a good system which permits to control a strategic question of first importance in the political of peace. But now,we are in a situation very different:all the treaties conclued in Europe have been in the impossibility to prevent the unemployment. So it would be very difficult to make previsions about the results of the vote in the next european élections. In numerous states, the nationalists hope a catastroph....

These problems listen are mostly member states problems so I think it would be more accurate that the whole of Europe is looking likely to collapse. The fall of the EU will be the point of no return and usher in the complete collapse of the continent. Even without the EU we will still have political instability and without the EU any chance if standing up to the outside world will be permanently lost.

We should not mistake this as a protest against the EU or even most populists as a protest purely against the EU. They are revolting against their domestic establishments which they may see the EU as an extension off. But once the EU falls their troubles with the establishment aren't over and adventurous populist will still need to get themselves into office regardless of the cost. Bringing down the EU won't solve any of their woes and its likely not even their primary target. In this case its Macron.

More of the media bad faith has been exposed lately.

First polls show that 23% of the french trust their media (interesting roughly the same percentage trusts the president.... which has led to speculations on whether these were actually the same people)

Gilets jaunes" : les journalistes pris pour cible

But the bad faith is this... There are by now close to 100 severely wounded in the "gilets jaunes" (14 of which lost an eye) due to questionnable police actions ... This has been treated very low key by the media who preferred to focus on violence FROM the "gilets jaunes"... By now the number of wounded and arrested by far exceeds anything known in France for the past 50 years or so.....(you'd think this should be front page) Compare this to the one case where the arrest of one hooligan resisting police resulted in his being wounded a couple of years ago (and prompting a visit to his bedside by the then president) raised all kinds of hoopla in the media who immediately denounced police brutality and police torture. The police was accused of raping him with with a trungeon which was later shown to be fake news....

Affaire Théo : un an d'enquête et d'interrogations

So on in that one case (but there are been several such instances) we have one hooligan wounded in questionnable at best circumstances prompting a media frenzy against the police , on the other hand we have 100 severely wounded many of them regular citizens peacefully demonstrating with a very low key response by the media who have actually gone as far as praising police action....

In reaction the "gilets jaunes" have been blocking the distribution of some newspapers and roughing up some journalists... This of course generated no end of complaints from the journalist and was largely covered in the media.... When some cars burned in front of a news paper building it was branded and unacceptable attack (the fire was later proven to be completely accidental with no relation to the giles jaunes but the media had already been out with the story)... In addition some 20+ journalists have been roughed up or otherwise molested by the police, but that has also been very low key

So now the Gilets Jaunes and the media are at loggerheads and the media in general have been shown to have been firmly in the camp of the authorities...

A farmer, member of the "yellow jerseys" has decided to pass at the attack. With his lorry, he has dropped a commando of 20 hens at the entrance of the "national assemblee".In front of 50 journalists, the security, gendarmerie and police, have fought during one hour to reject the animals of the terrorist.
