Let us just say instead of the British, you had the see same number of Germans teleported to the Malay peninsula to try to slow the Japs down, with the Germans under German command, how well would they do vs. how well the British Empire did in 1941 to 1942? Say Yamashita still commands the Japanese, while someone like Hermann Hoth, von Runstedt, or Kesselring is in command of the teleported German troops. They get beamed supplies at the same rate that the British historically did.

If you put Kesselring with a well resourced German army. The Japanese would be STILL trying to get to Singapore.

Simple answer. They're f****d. No British means no Royal Navy and IJN runs unchallenged in the Indian Ocean. Kriegsmarine couldn't even dent that dominance. Hence if the portal is closed after sending the troops and all required supplies, even an entire Army Group wouldn't be enough. However if the Germans are able to keep the portal open indefinitely, then we have something that be a subject of discussion.
